IRENE PLOTSKY June 12, 1960 ~ July 6, 2026
With family by her side, Irene Christine Plotsky passed away in Medicine Hat on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the age of 66 years. Irene’s memory will be cherished by her husband Dale, who was the love of her life for almost 47 years; two sons, Derrick (Jenny) and Kyle (Hannah); two grandchildren, Anara and Kanan; her brother, Rudy Schlaht as well as the many friends that became part of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Christian and Amanda Schlaht and Dale’s parents, Bill and Jackie Plotsky.
Growing up on a farm, Irene learned the value of hard work at an early age. She spent 12 years at the Medical Arts Centre and 28 years at the Cancer Centre helping patients and made many lasting friendships. In her free time, Irene enjoyed being on the golf course with Dale to play a friendly round and be outdoors together. She also loved travelling with friends and family to places near and far.
Above all else, Irene’s greatest joy was her family with her grandchildren being the true lights of her life. They gave her purpose, filled her heart with pride and brought a smile to her face every time she saw them.
Irene will be remembered for her strength through adversity, caring nature, gentle spirit and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered every day.
