David William Fischer “Dave” passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, shortly after his 83rd birthday, with family by his side. Born in Medicine Hat on June 11, 1943, predeceased by his father, Frederick Fischer, his mother, Olga Fischer (née Dalchau), and brother Elmer Fisher. Dave was the beloved husband of Carol Fischer (née Betton) for more than 61 years, father of Terry (Kathryn), Kevin (Tracey), and Dean (Robyn), and proud grandfather of Courtney, Connor, Cameron, Kyle, Lainey, and Reese. Dave was a businessman, entrepreneur, and community builder in Medicine Hat. During his career, he was most known for owning and operating Fischer’s Plumbing & Heating, Hidden Valley Ski Resort, and Tot-em Transportation. David also resided at Lake of the Woods, ON, Sun City, AZ, and Kelowna, BC, during his retirement. In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service.
