PATRICIA GRANT
Posted: September 18th, 2026 PATRICIA GRANT July 15, 1943 ~ September 11, 2026 Patricia Joan Grant (nee Tremaine) of Medicine Hat Alberta, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the age of 83 years.
Pat was born on July 15, 1943, in Regina, Saskatchewan to Sydney and Sybil Tremaine. Growing up in Regina with her sister Cece, they spent many summers at Regina Beach where her children and grandchildren spent their summers at the family cabin, which was home to some of her fondest memories. Pat graduated high school from Luther College, where she met her future husband, Des.
On September 29, 1962, she married Desmond Grant, beginning nearly 64 years of marriage and a life they built together in many different cities. They eventually settled in Medicine Hat in 1980, where they continued to raise their three children. Pat loved creating memories with Des on the many cruises and vacations they experienced together. She spent 25 years at Crestwood Elementary School, where she was a caring and familiar face to many students and families. After retiring, Pat worked seasonally at Nutter’s where she took pride in creating the beautiful Christmas trays each year. She loved to travel, and most of all, enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her so much happiness.
Pat loved reading, travelling and spending time with family and her friends. She was known for her warmth, kindness and her love for her family. She loved animals and was rarely seen without a loyal dog by her side.
Along with her husband, Des, Pat’s memory will live on through her three children, Jamie (Pam), Donald (Judi) and Patty (Scott); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren as well as her sister, Cece.
A Private service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to your local humane society or animal rescue shelter.
