DANIEL JOSEPH LATIMER

DANIEL JOSEPH LATIMER June 8, 1957 to September 4, 2026 Daniel was born in Sudbury, Ontario and spent his early years in North Bay, Ontario. Daniel would always say North Bay was “home”, it was the place he would say he was from. The brightest years for Daniel were in North Bay with his cousins when he was young, those memories were always at the core of Daniel’s life. The family moved to Alberta when Daniel was a young teen, they lived in Edmonton and then Calgary. Dan went to SAIT where he trained as a commercial chef, after graduating he moved to Coronation to cook at the Coronation Hotel. Daniel’s life was full of mental health challenges. Daniel’s mother was always a stalwart support for Daniel. Dan’s brother David and his wife Roxanne and their three kids, Sarah, Joel and Jon shared a generation of making memories together with Dan, he never missed a celebration or a birthday. Daniel was a wonderful brother, a great uncle, a great grand-uncle and a kind, sweet and sensitive man. Daniel loved wearing hats and had quite a few of them. He also loved painting using different mediums from ash to watercolour. Daniel loved writing and he loved playing the guitar. Everyone who knew Dan loved his corny jokes. During the last year of his life he was required to use oxygen and life was a daily struggle. His dependency on oxygen grew very quickly and his COPD worsened. His daily fight to breathe, to walk, to enjoy, well that is over. Daniel is resting in peace and he will be deeply missed. Goodbye Danny.
