DENNIS ANDERSON
Posted: October 17th, 2026 DENNIS ANDERSON October 26, 1951 ~ October 6, 2026
Our family shares, with profound sadness, the passing of Dennis Anderson; a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was born October 26, 1951, to Ray and Muriel Anderson in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up with 5 siblings: Ken (Lily), Carol (Edward), David (Iona), Christine (Brian) and Richard (Valerie).
Dennis moved to Medicine Hat, where he raised a family and worked as a roofing contractor and part-owner of Plato’s Superior Roofing Ltd. He formed lasting relationships with his employees and peers. He retired from Plato’s in 2017.
Dennis was a loving, supportive father to his four children: Andrea (Andrew), Barrett (Sandra), Caitlin (Jarrid) and Danica (Kyle). He was always involved in his children’s lives, whether coaching sports, offering advice, or playing a game of crib. Dennis was a devoted grandfather who loved spoiling his grandchildren: Cameron Anderson; Keirin and Davin Grewal; Asher, Arlo and Ole Anderson; Ori Tamtom; Abigail and Lilah Herrmann; Julian Schinkel, Waylon, Madyson and Jordyn Hunter. The grandkids always looked forward to sleepovers and grandpa’s snack drawer full of chips and candy.
Dennis and Rhonda met in 2001. They blended their families, creating many memories at family gatherings along with Rhonda’s son, Rob (Kendal). Whenever Dennis and Rhonda hosted, there was always an abundance of food. He enjoyed preparing meals for his family and loved his appetizers, red wine and coffee. Active throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed travelling, golfing, going to the gym and working around the house and yard.
Dennis was predeceased by his granddaughter, Nora; his parents, Ray and Muriel and his brother, Richard.
Dennis’ positive spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
